SHORT RECITAL OF THE CASE:

 The Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha raised the demand for enhanchment of house rent allowance granted to the nonresident permanent workers in tea plantation vide an agreement singed between the ACMS and the Employers' Associations on 6.3.1987.At a bipartite metting held at Dibrugarh on 10.6.1992 following agreement has been reached in regard to House Rent Allowance.

(a) That a non-resident permanent worker of a tea plantation residing in his own accommodation outside the estate entitled to a residential accommodation within the plantation Labour Act. will receive a House Rent Allowance of Rs. 35.00 per month.

(b) In the event of any such worker refusing allotment of housing accommodation offered by the management the worker will not be entitled to receive House Rent Allowance.

(c) If any non-resident permanent worker is already in receipt of better facilities in respect of housing he would continue to enjoy the same but in that case concerned worker will not be entitled to the house rent.

(d) This agreement will take effect form 1st June 1992.
