Khandari, Secy, ACMS, Central Office SHORT RECITAL: The memorandum of Settlement dated 26 July 1977, followed by the settlement dated 21st August, 1981 having expired on 31st March. 1982, bilateral discussions took Pace between the employees Associations and the Union for revision of pay scales of Subordinate staff and Other Monthly Rated Workers on 18.2.82.19.3.82.21.4.82,3.7 82 and 4.7.82 and a Settlement was reached on the following terms: Terms of Settlement: 1. a) With effect form 1.4.82, the new scales of pay for workers will be as follows:- For Estates of 300 acres and above Grade II: Rs. 195-5-245-6-306 Grade III: Rs 175-5-225-6-285 Hor Others Estates: Grade II: Rs. 195-5-245-6-305 Grade III: Rs. 175-5-225-6-285 b) Employees in Grade III with basic pay upto Rs. 175/- per month on 31.3.82 will be fitted at the first stage i.e. Rs. 175/- of the revised scale. The fittmen of employees in other stages in grade III will be as shown in Annexure A. d) Employees in Grade II with basic pay upto 175-00 p.m. on 31.3.82 will be fitted at first stage i.e. Rs. 175/- of the revised scale. The fittmen of employees in other stages in Grade Ii will be as shown in Annexure B. e) All employees covered by this agreement after fittmen as above will be given an increment in the new in Annexure B. f) A mutually agreed scheme will be evolved within a period of six months form the date of this agreement to take care of any variation of Consumer Price Index during the formula to be effective form 1.4.83. will be based on money value of each point variation in an appropriate series of Consumer Price Index as many be agreed upon between the parties. In the event of the parties failing to adopt a new series of Consumer Price Index will be applied taking 1981 as the base in the series was 536 (1949=100. g) For the months of January, Febuary and March, 1982 an Additional V.D.A. @ 6 of the basic pay of individual empolyees in the pre-existing pay scale will be paid within 30th September, 1982. h) Arrears payable as a result of fittmen of the employees in the new pay scales as illustrated in Annexure A and B will also be paid within 30th September, 1982. 2. The agreement will retain valid upto 31.3.1985. 3. The gardens in financial distress shall refer the matter to the concerned Branch Secretary, Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha and the Secretary of thier respective Employers' Association who will decide by discussion among themselves about the mode and date of payment of arreas concerned, it being agreed that in no case the implementation of the agreement in full shall be deferred beyond 1/1/1983. 4. During the pendency of this Agreement the employees and the Union will not raise any industry wise dispute in respect of the covered in this Agreement.
