SHORT RECITAL: In pursuance of Clause 4 of the Memorandum of Settlement dated 10thFeb. 1977, the parties met at Dibrugarh on 4th July,1977, and again on the 25th July and 26th July, 1977 arrived at a settlement on the following terms:- Terms of Settlement: With effect form 1st April, 1977 the existing scalesof pay of the Subordinate and Other Monthly rated workers will be revised as under;- 1. (a) The new basic pay will be arrived at by merging the basic existing D.A> 14.5 % of the Basic pay the existing V.D.A. of 25.50 % of the basic pay. The new scales of pay will be as follows and the fitman in these scales will be as illustrated in the Annexure. For Estate of 300 acres and above: Grade II : Rs. 155-4=Rs. 135 Grade III: Rs. 137-4=Rs. 217. For Other States:- Grade II : Rs. 155-4=Rs. 135 Grade III: Rs. 137-4=Rs. 217. (b) On the new basic Pay a fixed D.A. of 14% will be paid. (c) The adhoc increase of Rs. 20% per month paid form 1.4.77. in accordance with Clause 4 of the Memorandum of Settlement dated 10. 2..77 will be adjusted against the arrears due as a result of fitment into the new scales of pay with effect form 1/4/77. The balance amount sue will be paid 31st August, 1977. (d) The new basic pay and the fixed average All India Consumer to the Number for the year 1976, being 360 (Base 1949=100). (e) To neurative any rise in the average All India Consumer Price Index there will be provision for payment of V.D.A. form the Calender year 1978 to 1981. For the calender year 1978, be paid at the point rise in the average increase in the All India Consumer price Index Number during the calender years 1977, 1978,1979 and 1980 subject to the maxium of 20 points eise on any of these calender years. Any excess over this limit in a year will be carried forward to the subsequent year. 2. This Agreement eilll remain valid for a period of Five years upto the 31st March, 1982. 3. During the pending of this Agreement the employees and the Union will not raise any industry wise dispute in respect of the issue covers by he Agreement.
