Khandait SHORT RCEITAL The 3 years Industry wise Agreement Period Form 1-11-86 to 31-10-87 Form 1-11-87 to 31-10-88 Form 1-11-88 to 31-10-89 (b) In view of the financial diffuculties faced by the gardens in Karbi Anlong District the increase in garden that District will be as follows; Period Form 1-11-86 to 31-10-87 Form 1-11-87 to 31-10-88 Form 1-11-88 to 31-10-89 2. (a) For the period 1-3-86 to 31-10-86, adult daily rated workers, expect those employed in the gardens of the Karbi Anlong District, who attend work for atleast 70 days during this period will receive a lumpsum payment dated 1st August, 1983 on wages on for the daily rated workers in the Assam Valley expired on 31 st July, 1986. Negotiations took place between the Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha and the employers' associated representing the tea industry at Dibrugarh on various dated and eventually a new agreement was aggived at on 29th following terms: Terms of Settlement: 1. (a) The existing rates of wages of the daily rated workers in the tea estate of the Assam Valley barring those in the Karbi Anlong District, will be increased as follows: Adult Child 65 paise 33 paise 65 paise 33 paise 65 paise 33 paise
Adult Child 55 paise 28 paise 55 paise 28 paise 55 paise 28 paise of Rs. 40/- each. In the case of daily rated child workers, with minimum attendance of 70 days during this period, the amount will be Rs. 20/- each. The amounts will be reduced proportionately for workers with lesser attendance during this period. (b) For the daily rated workers in tea estate of the Karbi Anlong District the lumpsum payments for the period 1st, August, 1986 to 31st October, 1986 will adult workers and child workers respectively. The amounts will be reduced proportionately for workers with lesser attendance during that period. 3.The arreas of wages form the 1st of November, 1986 and the lumpsum payments mentioned in clause 2 above will be paid within the March 1987. 4. The increase in wages as provided for in clauase 1 (a) & (b) of this agrement shall be added to the current rates of daily allowance for the plucking form the period 1st November until cessation of ticca plucking this seasion. It is further view to increasing productivity a revised plucking rate structure will be evolved by mutual discussion before the commencement of the plucking seasion of 1987. 5. To bring about reasonable parity in earnings of the pluckers and daily rated factory workers it is agreed that the daily rated adult factory workers engaged in the factory will get an additional amount of 50 paise per day in addition to their daily wages during the period of ticca plucking which is normally between March and November. The daily rated child factory workers will get this additional amount at 25 (twenty five) paise per day during the period of ticca plucking. This will be effective form the ticca plucking seasion 1987. If any system of payment or other incentive system id prevent in any garden for the daily rated factory workers, the system which is more beneficial to the daily rated factory workers shall continue and the daily rated factory workers shall be entitled to the benefit under the prevalent scheme or the benefit as above as the case may be but not both. 6. This agreement will be deemed to be a "Settlement" as defined in Section 2 (p) of the Industrial Disputes Act and will be binding on the arties as provided for Section 18th of the said Act. This agreement will cover the period upto 31st October, 1989, and the any industry-wise demand or dispute during this period on respect of the rates of wages for the daily rated workers in the Assam Valley.
