Agreement Regarding Piece Rates for plucking

Nanes of Parties:- 1. Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha. 2. Employees Asoociation of tea estates in AssamValley represented by: (i) Indian Tea Association (ii) Tea Association of India. (iii) Bharatiya Chah Parishasd . (iv) Assam Tea Planters Association. Short recital of the cases: The parties being desirous of revising a new piece rate for plucking in tea estate agreed as follows: Terms of Settlement: 1. This Agreement regarding piece rate for plucking will come into force with effect form 17th October 1977 in All tea estate under the members of the undernoted Employers Associations. 2. It is agreed that the new rate for plucking will be 18th paise per kilogram of leaf plucked for all adult and child workers, in addition workers shall be paid a daily allowance as under Zones 1 & 2 Zone 3 Nowgong Circle (excluding Nowgong) Adult workers Rs. 1.28 Rs. 1.21 Rs. 1.11 Child workers Rs. 0.64 Rs.0.61 Rs.0.56 3. The fair wage on a time basis will be guarantees to all pluckers irrespective of the quantity of leaf plucked provides they work for a full day. 4. A plucker who works for half a day only will receive payment at 18 paise per kilogram for the amount of leaf pluckers plus half the dailyallowance as per clause 2 above 5. Any future increase in wage during the operation of this agreement shall be added to the above daily allowances 6. the existing rates of plucking commission payable to Sirdars, as application on individual estates shall not be affected by this Agreement. 7. The earnings of half kilogram of plucked leaf will be taken at 9 paisebut where the amount of leaf is less than half kilogram this not be taken into account 8. This agreement shall remain in force until further notice and may be revised only by mutual agreement between the A.C.M.S.and the Employers' Associations. In view of this agreement the notice of token strike given by A.C.M.S. is withdrawn.
