Agreement Between Indian Tea Association, Assam Tea

AND

Assam Chah Mazdoor Sanfha

Cachar Sramik Union

 

In pursuance of a decision of the 34th Session of the Standing Labour Committee, Assam, held on the 16th December, 1974, the Wage Negotiating Committee met at Gauhati on the 17th December, 1974, and arrived at a settlement on the question of wages for workers in the operative upto the 31st December, 1974,, in terms of the settlement of dated 16th November 1973. The terms of the present settlement are as follows:-

1. With effect form the 5th January, 1975 and the 7th February, 1976 the following increases in daily wages of daily rated

workmen in Assam Valley and cachar shall be given:

Form 5th  January, 1975

            Adult workers  32 paise

            Child workers  16   "

Form 7th February,  1976

          Adult Worker   32 paise

          Child   Worker  16   "

2. It was agreed that the Variable Dearness allowance which remains frozen till the 31st December, 1974 will be paid for the years 1975 and 1976, at the rate of 04 paise for per point rise in the average increase in the All India Consumer Price Index number during the Calender years 1974 and 1975, subject to the maximum of 20 points rise in any of these Calender years. Any excess over this limit in a year will be carried forward to the subsequent year. Since the  rise in all India Consumer Price Index Number during the year 1974 has exceeded 40 points   over the average A.I.C.P.I. number of 1973 following increases in V.D.A. shall be given:

Form 5th January, 1975

Adult workers-8 paise

Child workers- 4 paise

Form 7th February, 1976

Adult workers- 8 paise

Child workers- 4 paise

3. (a) This agreement will cover the period upto 28th Feb. 1977

(b) During this period the workers and he Unions will not raise any industry-wise dispute in respect of the items, covered in this agreement.
