In Tea Garden In Assam Valley With T.A.I. (AB) BILATERAL DISCUSSIONS ON SETTING UP OF CO-OPERATIVE CONSUMER STORES IN TEA GARDENS IN ASSAM VALLEY
| 1. The
Signatory parties have both agreed that it is desirable that
Cooperative Societies should be formed in tea gardens, and will help each
other in doing so. 2. That gardens will provide suitable pieces of land for erecting buildings for Co-operative Societies formed by the Workers, or may also make available free of rent suitable building, but will be under no obligation to undertake new construction of such buildings. 3. If after making available land buildings they are not utilised for the purpose it is given, or are not occupied within 6 month after, making the right to revoke them. 4.The gardens will try to assist by providing free transport or allow Utilisation of garden transport by the Co-operative for transportation of the merchandise, but provision of such facilities will not be obligatory. It will depend upon the convenience and available of garden transport.5. Assistance in the realisation of credit form workers' wages will be considered by the gardens. 6. The capital and administration of the Co-operative Societies will remain a responsibility of the workers and the garden management will not get involved in them while every help will be given for successful functioning of the stores.
